Coronavirus Update

Update 10th June 2022:

With the recent update in the guidance provided to us by our regulators, we are happy to report that it is currently not a requirement to wear masks in and around our practice. Should you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please feel free to do so.

We will no longer be screening with COVID questions prior to your appointment. However, should you experience any COVID-like symptoms, please contact reception prior to your appointment to check whether you need to rebook for another day.

Update 22nd February 2022:

With a change in some of the guidance provided by our regulators, you may notice some changes at your next dental visit.

For the safety of all our patients and staff, our reception team will continue to ask COVID related questions prior to each appointment. Recent research has shown air filters as beneficial to removing COVID from the air. For your safety we have therefore introduced air filters in each room to help clean the air.

The front door will now be unlocked, so feel free to come on in. The exception to this being when there are high numbers of patients in and around the building.

Despite upcoming general government changes, as a healthcare setting, we are still required to continue the wearing of masks around the surgery for staff and patients.

For now we still ask if you could wear a mask in and around the building and whilst waiting for your appointment.

Thank you for your support

Triangle Dental Management

Update 19th July 2021:

Despite the relaxation of government restrictions from the 19th of July, we will still be asking both staff and patients to continue wearing masks within Triangle Dental. This is both due to the current significant increase in COVID-19 infection rates, and to protect the health of our clinically vulnerable staff and patients.

Please remember to bring your mask to your appointment. Anyone without a mask will either be offered one or asked to wait outside the building until your dentist / hygienist is ready for you.

The Chief Dental Officer of England released advice to all Dentists on Friday 16th July 2021 to continue all our decontamination and COVID procedures. We are therefore continuing with the COVID charges as mentioned previously for each appointment. As restrictions are relaxed we will aim to remove this charges.

Thank you all for your patience and support

Triangle Management

Update 3rd November 2020:

Although the country is entering a second national lockdown, Triangle Dental will remain open for full services using the same safety measures that we have had in place since June. Routine dental check-ups are important in the early recognition and treatment of disease. Dentists check for many diseases and conditions in the mouth, not just tooth decay. As for any disease, it is important that diseases of the mouth are spotted early and treated early in order for treatment to stand the best chance of being successful. It is for this reason that we encourage you to keep your dentist appointments and preventative hygienist appointments.

In dentistry, this lockdown is different to the last one as we understand more about Covid-19 and how it is spread, and how to prevent it from spreading. Rest assured that dental practices in the UK have some of the highest cross-infection measures in the world and there are no known cases of Covid-19 being spread at dental practices. The surgery is constantly being disinfected, distance is maintained, and we have the same level of PPE that front-line staff have in a hospital Covid ward.

However we realise that some patients may wish to postpone their dental care. Particularly if you are in a vulnerable group. We will fully support your decision to do this and if you would like to discuss this please give our reception team a call on 0118 942 7113.

Your patient guide to visiting the surgery

There have been quite a few changes to Triangle Dental in the way we are required to operate during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Please click here for a guide to our changes.

Enhanced PPE

Please be aware when visiting the surgery our staff will all be wearing protective equipment. To restrict movement in and out of the surgery, our door will remain locked. If you have an appointment, please ring the doorbell and a member of staff will speak to you over the intercom.

For some procedures, our dentists and nurses will be wearing large masks, gowns and protective visors. Please don’t worry when you see this, the same friendly team is still underneath.

COVID Charge

With the changes around the surgery and increased costs in acquiring essential equipment, we are required to implement a supplementary charge, in addition to our current fees. We hope for this to be temporary and for fees to be reduced or removed in the near future.

To protect our staff and patients from COVID:

  • Extra protective is required for each appointment
  • Longer appointment times are needed
  • Enhanced cleaning measures
  • Extractions fans have been integrated into the surgery to exchange the air
  • Protective time has been introduced after aerosol generating appointments to allow this aerosol to settle before cleaning.

The Fees are as below:

Non Aerosol Procedures (e.g. Examinations, Hygienist Hand scaling, sealants)Aerosol Generating Procedures (e.g. fillings, crowns, emergency appointments)
Private£10£35
Denplan Essentials10% off above fees10% off above fees

Online Consultations

In addition to our face-to-face appointments, we are introducing online consultations with our dentists. This service will initially only be available for Denplan Care patients, and at a later date will be opened to our remaining patients. An online consultation would be suitable to discuss specific tooth problems and to form a treatment plan to resolve them.

Please call or email reception@triangledental.co.uk if you would like a zoom consult with one of our clinicians (Denplan Care patients only).

Online Medical Forms

To avoid the need to handle paper medical forms in the surgery, we would like you to do your medical history form online. There will be a link to fill out your forms in your reminder email / text prior to your appointment.

To login to your portal, please enter your surname and date of birth. The date of birth should be entered in the following format (Month/DD/YYYY). For example if your date of birth is 1st January 1976, you should enter January 01 1976 into the relevant boxes.

Should you have any problems with this system, please contact our reception team.

We look forward to seeing you again at Triangle Dental

Yours Sincerely

Chris Read & Jon Cowie
