You may have an important event coming up, such as a wedding or holiday, that you want to look your best for or it may be that your teeth have gradually become discoloured. Whatever the reason, tooth whitening, when provided by your dentist, is a safe and easy way to improve the appearance of your smile.
What does teeth whitening treatment involve?
The first step is an assessment of your existing tooth colour and showing you examples of what colours you would be able to achieve following the whitening.
We then take a digital scan to record the shape of your teeth and gums in order to make your custom whitening mouth trays.
Then, from the comfort of your home and when it suits your schedule, you can begin the process of whitening your teeth. It is a simple procedure that involves applying a gel to your whitening trays. The trays make sure that the whitening gel is evenly and safely transforming the colour of your teeth.
You can either wear these for short periods during the day or while you sleep. Teeth are whitened gradually so you can reach your desired tooth shade and stop whitening when you are happy. It usually takes around two weeks to achieve a whiter smile.
