Facial Aesthetics – Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a professional service to our patients with fully trained clinicians who regularly maintain and advance their skills with courses. Your safety is paramount, we only use the highest quality products which have been rigorously tested. We carry out treatments in the dental surgery so we can ensure the best level of infection control. We also regularly train in medical emergencies, so we are ready for any unforeseen circumstances.

Each year, we look into new innovations at Triangle Dental. We aim to keep growing the number of different services available for our patients. Our newest services include invisalign orthodontics and non-surgical facial treatments.

Our lower age limit for treatment is 18. Technically there is no upper age limit, but treatments become less successful above the age of 65.

Having any type of cosmetic treatment is a personal decision and one that can be made by you alone. We encourage you to speak to friends and family to ensure that you are doing the right thing. You are welcome to bring a family member or friend to the consultation so we can discuss any concerns together.

Yes, the best time to act is before the wrinkles occur. We can provide a preventative treatment to help keep your youthful looks for longer. Please discuss this with us in your consultation so we can provide you with the best advice and treatment.

In most cases patients can see a real difference after one treatment. Some of the treatment techniques we use give an effect that is noticeable straight afterwards, whereas others take 2-3 weeks to be fully apparent. Every face is unique or course, and we’ll advise you on how many treatments you’re likely to need and how often, depending on the results you’d like to achieve. The treatments we use are not permanent and therefore will need to be refreshed every 3-8 months depending on the type of treatment.

For wrinkles around the forehead and eyes, the effects of the treatment will generally wear off after 3 months. Most people book a top-up appointment at this time to refresh the effect of their anti-wrinkle treatment. If you decide to stop treatment, any permanent lines and wrinkles will gradually return. For around the mouth, we tend to use a different product which lasts up to a year before needing a second application.

We do not offer permanent treatments for lip enhancements and other facial treatments. These permanent types of treatments often come with a lot more problems and are often difficult to remove if something were to go wrong, or if you were unhappy with the look.

It’s very rare for the treatment to be painful. Most patients experience a feeling of slight discomfort during the treatment but that’s all. We will talk you through what to expect before your first injection so you will be fully prepared prior to the treatment.

Rest assured following an extensive assessment we will aim to meet your expectations, being mindful not to over contour the lips.

With the injections, at worse you will have a little redness that will subside after a few hours. Some injections, especially around the mouth or nose to mouth area, you may experience temporary mild bruising and swelling.

These vary from case to case and will be discussed in detail in your consultation. Frequent risks can include mild bruising, swelling and soreness in the areas treated.

Treatment is not advised if you are on blood thinning medications or immunosuppressants.

Treatment during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding is generally not advised
